Abbottabad: Police on Monday recovered the body of a lady doctor who had gone missing four days earlier from Abbottabad.
According to police, Dr Wardah Mushtaq, serving at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed DHQ Teaching Hospital, disappeared after leaving the hospital with a close female friend.
Dr Wardah’s father lodged an FIR at Cantt Police Station, stating that his daughter had gone with her friend Arda, wife of Waheed, to collect 67 tolas of gold she had kept with her as trust. She never returned.
Police later detained the friend, her husband, and their driver for questioning.
Her body was recovered from the Thandiani forest area after the suspects identified the location. Investigators said Arda allegedly handed Dr Wardah over to hired killers following a dispute over the gold.
Police have arrested one accomplice, while another suspect fled. The search for the remaining accused involved in the murder of lady doctor in Abbottabad continues.
