Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s son, Qasim Khan, has urged the Pakistani public not to attempt any march or protest near Adiala Jail.
PTI has announced an Islamabad long march for September 27 in support of Imran Khan’s release and other demands. Section 144 has been imposed across Punjab, while Rangers have also been called in to Islamabad and several cities across the province. Meanwhile, several PTI leaders and workers, including Imran Khan’s three sisters, have reportedly been taken into custody.
In a post on X, Qasim Khan appealed to the public to exercise caution, claiming that he had received information from his sources that any such gathering could potentially be used as a pretext for a “counter-action” at Adiala Jail, where his father is being held.
He said such a situation could pose a serious threat to his father’s life.
Qasim further urged people to show restraint and avoid giving anyone an opportunity or justification that could lead to an incident endangering Imran Khan’s life.
Qasim Khan has previously expressed concerns about his father’s health and well-being in interviews with various international media outlets. The government, however, maintains that the former prime minister has access to adequate medical facilities and receives regular medical check-ups.
