Netflix is expanding its kids and preschool entertainment lineup with new shows, games and family content. The company announced the plans on September 24, 2026. The update includes a new Sesame Street film currently in development. The announcement also extends Netflix’s partnership with Sesame Workshop. The deal will bring more new seasons of Sesame Street to viewers worldwide. The series agreement now runs through Season 62.
New Sesame Street movie in development
Netflix is developing a new Sesame Street film with Rideback and Sesame Workshop. The project will bring Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and other characters into a new movie story.
Netflix has not announced a release date for the film. The company has also not shared full story details.
More Sesame Street episodes are also coming to Netflix. Season 57 Volume 4 will arrive on November 23. Volumes 5 and 6 are planned for 2027.
The CGI animated series Mecha Builders will also arrive on October 26. It adds another Sesame Street title to Netflix’s children’s lineup.
Netflix adds more kids shows
The announcement also covers several other titles. Gabby’s Dollhouse is getting a new companion series called Doozie’s Doghouse. The show follows Gabby’s sister, Doozie. It will premiere on November 9. Netflix will also launch Gabby’s Dollhouse: Makers and Bakers on December 9. The series will feature young baker and maker teams. They will compete in holiday-themed challenges.
The company is also introducing Puppy Pirates. The animated series follows four dogs who travel across the seas. They search for lost items and take on new adventures. Meanwhile, Bad Dinosaurs has received renewals for Seasons 2 and 3. Each season will contain eight episodes. The first season has collected nearly 55 million views since its 2024 debut.
