The Local Government and Rural Development Department in Hangu has cancelled the weekly holidays of its employees for this weekend.
According to a notification issued by the Assistant Director of Local Government and Rural Development Hangu, Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, 2026, have been declared working days for local government staff.
All secretaries of Village and Neighbourhood Councils have been directed to report to their offices on both days. Class-IV employees have also been ordered to remain present for duty.
Attendance to be strictly monitored
The notification warns that employees who remain absent may face strict disciplinary action under the relevant laws and service rules.
Officials and other staff have also been directed to provide proof of their attendance. They must share dated photographs to confirm that they reported for duty.
Sanitary workers and sweepers have also been given separate instructions. They will perform field duties on Sunday, September 27, according to the notification.
Hangu is part of the Kohat Division and has local government bodies operating under Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s local government system.
