Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar, on Friday, criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Speaking about the province’s security situation, Tarar claimed that the KP government was unaware of the law and order situation in the province. He also alleged that PTI was viewed favourably by terrorists.
Tarar further added that PTI is the B team of TTP and the C team of TTA, claiming that they are long-term facilitators of terrorism.
Atta Tarar also stated that KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi appears less like a Chief Minister and more like a TTP commander.
The Federal Minister remarked that the PTI is now shying away from the sit-in. If they have the courage, they should come forward, he added.
He further claimed that the KP government intends to turn the police into a political force.
“Thugs” on way to “attack state” again, says Marriyum Aurangzeb
Before this, in a post on X, Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the party was once again preparing to “attack the state”. She also shared the videos of previous PTI protests.
She said PTI has a history of violent confrontations during demonstrations, including attacks on public property and clashes with law-enforcement personnel.
“Those thugs who smashed police officers’ heads and injured their eyes are on the attack again. The ‘kill them,’ ‘burn them,’ and ‘set them on fire’ thugs are once again coming to attack the state”, she said.
Referring to previous protests, Aurangzeb cited the 2014 Islamabad sit-in and the May 9, 2023 unrest. She also alleged that PTI supporters had attacked state institutions, injured police personnel, damaged property and disrupted public life. She said the government would not allow a repeat of such incidents on September 27.
