The government and opposition have reached an agreement during their talks today. The negotiating teams are now discussing the draft of the agreement, reports say.

Has the government agreed to arrange a meeting with the PTI founder?

However, according to the reports, the claim that the government has agreed to arrange a meeting with the PTI founder is false.
Sources said the draft is being prepared and will be signed as a written agreement.
The government has asked the opposition to end the long march. The opposition has also informed the provincial government about the demand to end the march.
According to reports, PTI has agreed to continue negotiations with the government and move forward through political dialogue instead of protest.
The party had earlier announced the march as part of its protest against the government.
PTI has also agreed to work with the government on resolving the issues discussed during the negotiations.
The future of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was also discussed during the talks. PTI has indicated that it is willing to consider changes, including a possible change in the chief minister, as part of the broader political understanding.

How did the second round of talks begin?

The second round of talks started with complaints from both sides.
Federal Minister Amir Muqam raised the issue of a post by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
The government again asked the opposition to end the long march so that the talks could move forward.
Amir Muqam said the government had asked the opposition the previous day to cancel the long march. He said Sohail Afridi later posted about the long march on social media.
The government delegation also complained about the use of inappropriate language against senior government leaders. It questioned how much authority the opposition delegation had.
The opposition responded by raising a post by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif. It said trust must be restored if both sides wanted to move forward.
The government said it had come to the talks with an open mind and full authority. The Pakistan Peoples Party also called for the long march to be ended without conditions.

What happened during the break?

The talks were paused for separate consultations by both sides, reports add.
Sources said Mohsin Naqvi and Rana Sanaullah spoke to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif by phone. They briefed him on the progress of the talks, reports said.
Opposition members also contacted their leaders to discuss the talks.

Who is taking part in the talks?

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq is leading the talks.
The government team includes Mohsin Naqvi, Amir Muqam, Talal Chaudhry and Rana Sanaullah. Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman and Ejaz Jakhrani are also part of the government team.
The opposition team includes Allama Nasir Abbas, Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaiser, Salman Akram Raja, Amir Dogar and Haleem Adil.
