Punjab launches paid IT internships for 2,000 graduates

The Punjab government has launched the Chief Minister IT Internship Programme with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
The programme will offer paid internships to 2,000 recent IT and Computer Science graduates.

How much stipend will you get?

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs50,000. The internship will last for four to five months.
The programme aims to give young graduates practical work experience. It will also help them improve their digital skills and find better jobs in the technology sector.

Who can apply for the internship?

Candidates with at least 16 years of education can apply. They must have a BS or Honours degree in IT or a related field.
Eligible fields include Computer Science, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Graphic Design and Information Systems.
Applicants must have completed their degree within the last four years. They must also be unemployed when they apply.
Men, women and transgender people with a Punjab domicile can apply.

What documents are required?

Applicants must submit their CNIC or Form-B, Punjab domicile and educational certificates or degree.
They must also provide a recent photograph and an updated CV. Candidates can also submit certificates of previous work experience if they have any.

How will candidates be selected?

The selection process will include profile registration, an aptitude test, HEC degree verification and an interview.
Selected candidates will receive an internship along with an internationally recognised IT certification.
Under the programme, participating IT companies will also receive Rs12,500 per intern each month. This support will help companies provide interns with practical work opportunities.
Eligible candidates can apply online through the Punjab government’s official portal.
Recently, the Punjab Fisheries Department has started the Punjab Shrimp Internship Program 2026-2027.
The program is offering 70 paid internship positions for eligible candidates. Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs100,000 for one year.
