FPSC postpones exams in KP

The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has postponed General Recruitment exams scheduled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from 12 to 19 October 2026.

In a public notice issued on 11 October, the commission said the decision applies to Phase-III/2026 recruitment tests at examination centres in Peshawar and Dera Ismail Khan.

The FPSC said the tests had been postponed because of the prevailing situation in the province, as well as requests from candidates and local invigilation staff.

Examinations scheduled in other provinces and areas of Pakistan will take place according to the previously announced timetable, the commission said.

The FPSC added that a revised schedule for the postponed tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be announced at a later date.

Candidates have been advised to check the commission’s official website regularly for updates on new examination dates and further instructions.

The postponement is limited to the specified recruitment tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and does not affect examinations scheduled elsewhere in the country.

Emergency, Governor rule imposed in KP

The cabinet was briefed on the worsening law and order situation and the growing threat of terrorism in the province.

During the meeting, the cabinet conducted a detailed review of the situation, citing the provincial government’s deliberate disengagement from the fight against terrorism.

The cabinet recommended that the prime minister advise President Asif Ali Zardari to exercise his constitutional powers to impose an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution.

The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the advice had been sent to the Presidency for further action.
