The Metro Bus service operating between Rawalpindi and Islamabad has been partially suspended following instructions from the district administration.
The decision was announced on Friday (today) due to security and administrative concerns, to prevent any unwanted incidents and maintain public safety.
However, the entire Metro Bus service has not been shut down. Buses are still operating on a limited section of the route.
Metro bus service suspended on Islamabad route
The bus service between IJP Road and Pak Secretariat has been completely suspended.
Passengers cannot use the Metro Bus on this section until the restrictions are lifted.
The suspension affects commuters who regularly travel between Rawalpindi and different parts of Islamabad.
Many passengers use the Metro Bus for daily travel to offices, educational institutions and other destinations.
Officials said the restrictions were introduced on the instructions of the district administration.
Despite the restrictions, passengers can still use the Metro Bus between Saddar and Faizabad.
Officials confirmed that buses are operating normally on this section of the route.
However, passengers planning to travel beyond Faizabad towards Islamabad may need to arrange alternative transport, until further notice.
Officials said normal operations are expected to resume once the situation improves.
Passengers are advised to check the latest service updates before leaving home, especially if they need to travel towards Pak Secretariat.
Kashmir Highway and Pak Secretariat
Previously, Metro Bus service connecting Islamabad and Rawalpindi partially suspended following instructions from the district administration.
Reportedly, bus operations have been stopped between Kashmir Highway and Pak Secretariat.
However, the service between Saddar Station in Rawalpindi and Faiz Ahmed Faiz Station remains operational.
The suspension is expected to affect passengers who regularly use the Metro Bus to travel between the twin cities.
