Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations Faisal Kamran has directed police to prevent boys from unnecessarily gathering outside girls’ colleges and universities, stressing that students’ safety must remain a priority.

Addressing an anti-crime meeting in Model Town Division, Kamran instructed police officers to strengthen security around educational institutions to ensure the protection of female students.

During the meeting, he also ordered officers to prioritise cases involving women and children and ensure their timely resolution.

To curb street crime and theft, the DIG directed police to increase patrolling and adopt effective measures to improve law and order across the city.

He further ordered immediate action to arrest proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals. Police were also instructed to conduct search-and-sweep operations around private hotels, major stadiums and important routes.

Discussing security arrangements for upcoming cricket matches, Kamran directed officers to complete all security and logistical preparations well in advance.

He also ordered foolproof security arrangements around team hotels, stadiums and designated routes to ensure the safe movement of players and the smooth conduct of the matches.
