The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has signed an agreement with the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Bahawalpur to link student registration records with NADRA’s national database.
Under the agreement, the records of matric and intermediate students will be linked to NADRA through a secure data exchange system.
This will allow both institutions to verify and share students’ names, fathers’ names and dates of birth.
How will the agreement help students?
The new system aims to reduce errors in student registration. It will also help prevent differences in personal information and ensure that educational certificates are issued with accurate details.
The agreement was signed by Naz Shoaib, Director Registration (Head), Multan Region, and Ishtiaq Ahmed Gondal, Chairman of the Bahawalpur Education Board.
It is part of NADRA’s wider efforts to connect the records of educational boards across Pakistan through a digital system.
The initiative is expected to improve the accuracy of students’ identity and educational records.
Sindh links all education boards with NADRA
Sindh recently became the first province in Pakistan to connect all its educational boards with NADRA.
The provincial government has signed an agreement with NADRA to link all education boards to its digital system.
The signing ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for Universities Ismail Rahoo, NADRA’s Director General (DG) and chairmen of the educational boards.
How will the agreement help students?
Ismail Rahoo said the new system would help stop fake degrees and prevent people from taking exams on behalf of other students.
He said the link with NADRA would make the examination system more transparent. It would also help keep educational records safe and make them available in digital form.
The minister added that students would be able to access their verified educational degrees through the Pak ID app.
