RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army has successfully test-fired the Fatah-4 cruise missile, capable of hitting targets at a range of up to 750 kilometres.
According to the ISPR, the Fatah-4 is equipped with advanced avionics and a modern navigation system, and it has the ability to defeat enemy defence systems.
The Fatah-4 has the capability to hit targets with high accuracy at a range of up to 750 kilometres, as per the ISPR.
The new missile system has now become part of the Army Rocket Force Command, further enhancing the strength and defence capability of the Pakistan Army.
The ISPR stated that the Chief of General Staff along with senior military officers witnessed the test.
The President, Prime Minister, and military leadership congratulated the armed forces and the nation on the successful test of Fatah-4.
Fatah-4 is the latest addition to the Pakistan Army’s growing Fatah missile family. Unlike earlier variants, which were primarily ballistic systems, the Fatah-4 is a sophisticated cruise missile. Analysts believe it draws heavily on technologies from the Babur and Harbah missile series.
The Fatah series already includes a wide range of precision-strike weapons, from guided rockets to ballistic and cruise missiles. With the induction of Fatah-4, the missile family now gains a cost-effective, long-range conventional strike option that has the ability to penetrate advanced enemy air defense systems.
The Fatah-4 is designed for a range of more than 750 kilometers and is capable of delivering a 330-kilogram warhead with exceptional accuracy. It cruises at a speed of around Mach 0.7 while flying at an altitude of nearly 50 meters above ground, using terrain-hugging flight paths to reduce the risk of radar detection.
Its guidance system provides accuracy within five meters, a capability that can be further enhanced when the missile is equipped with an advanced Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) seeker.
