Pakistan’s auto industry saw a sharp year-on-year jump in sales during November 2025, even as rising prices continue to test buyers’ budgets.
According to fresh data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), sales of cars, LCVs, vans, and jeeps reached 15,442 units in November, up 51.9 percent from the 10,163 units sold in the same month last year.
Although the annual growth was strong, sales slowed on a monthly basis. Compared to October’s 17,333 units, November numbers were lower by 10.9 percent, reflecting a cooling in consumer activity after earlier months of stronger demand.
Over the first five months of FY26, sales climbed to 75,033 units, nearly 47.5 percent higher than the 50,856 units sold during the same period of FY25. Analysts say improved supplies, better financing conditions, and pent-up demand helped lift overall volumes.
Production and sales move in tandem
The industry produced 166,149 units across all categories in November, while 165,753 units were sold during the month. From July to November, total production reached 766,251 units, up about 32.6 percent from 577,859 units recorded in the same period last year.
Toyota leads the way
In the 1300cc and above category, Toyota continued to dominate. The company produced 3,056 units of Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross models and sold 3,236 units in November. Honda also showed strong traction, producing 2,198 City and Civic units and selling 2,359 units.
Suzuki maintained its momentum across segments. The Swift recorded production of 1,101 units with 1,367 units sold, while the Alto remained a key driver in the below-1000cc category with 5,124 units produced and 4,069 units sold.
SUVs, trucks and tractors’ demand
The SUV and pickup category posted healthy numbers, with 3,537 units produced and 3,034 units sold in November. Toyota’s Fortuner and IMV lineup contributed 1,311 units to production, with sales of 1,107 units, while Honda’s BR-V and HR-V continued to attract steady buyers.
Newer crossover models are also gaining ground as consumer interest shifts towards compact SUVs.
In the trucks and buses category, manufacturers such as Hino, Isuzu, and JAC produced 607 units with sales of 530 units in November, serving the growing logistics and transportation sector.
Farm tractors remained another bright spot. Production reached 2,971 units during November while sales surged to 3,663 units, showing strong demand from farmers. Over the July-November period, tractor production hit 9,860 units with sales of 9,530 units.
