Pakistan ODI captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has said that one or two wins are not enough to satisfy the team. He stressed the need to maintain consistent performances and support players instead of judging them on the basis of a single series.
Speaking after Pakistan’s win over Sri Lanka, Shaheen said players should be given enough chances to prove their abilities.
He said Fakhar Zaman struggled in four matches but continued to play despite an injury and also scored a century.
Shaheen praised Arafat Minhas and Saad Baig for their performances during the series. He said both players had a very good series.
What did Shaheen say about Babar Azam and his comeback?
Shaheen said Babar Azam was returning to first-class cricket. He added that Babar also had a match against their team.
Speaking about his own future, Shaheen said he wanted to return to Test cricket. He said he would play a match for FATA and work towards making a comeback.
He also admitted that he needed to work hard on improving his bowling.
What did Shaheen say about team leadership?
Shaheen said a team should have only one captain and one leader. He added that advice should be taken from the captain who is responsible for leading the team.
