Web desk: The Chinese Embassy has rejected reports claiming that the Chinese ambassador has written a letter to Pakistan’s President or the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. It was rumoured that the letter sought the release of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan.
Sources within the Chinese Embassy clarified that no such letter was written to either the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir or the President of Pakistan.
The embassy sources stressed that matters related to the conviction or release of the PTI founder are Pakistan’s internal affairs.
According to the sources, China maintains a consistent policy of non-interference in the internal matters of other countries, including Pakistan.
“China does not interfere in Pakistan’s internal issues,” the sources reiterated.
The Chinese Embassy further dismissed the reports about writing a letter in this regard as mere rumours.
The rumours are baseless and misleading, the sources stated.
The embassy categorically rejected these claims. It further emphasised that such reports have no factual basis.
Financial crisis hits PTI
Previously, it was reported that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had requested its parliamentarians to contribute to the party’s finances amid a financial crunch.
According to a letter sent by the PTI’s Additional Secretary General to members of the National Assembly, Senate, and provincial assemblies, each lawmaker has been asked to donate 10 per cent of their monthly salary to the party fund.
The letter states that each MNA, MPA, and Senator is expected to contribute PKR 50,000 per month.
The request has been made in a letter to members of the National Assembly, Senate, and provincial assemblies.
PTI’s Additional Secretary General stated that each parliamentarian is required to contribute 10 per cent of their monthly salary to the party fund.
Additionally, it has been requested that the payments be made on an urgent basis.
