Web desk: Huawei has climbed back to the top of China’s smartphone market, overtaking Apple for two consecutive weeks following the launch of its Mate 80 series, according to industry sales data.
Industry reports show that during the 48th week of 2025, from November 24 to 30, Huawei secured 27.81 per cent of smartphone sales in China.
Apple followed with a 17.12 per cent share, while OPPO, vivo, and Honor completed the top five.
Huawei retained its lead in the 49th week, from December 1 to 7, capturing 22.89 per cent of the market.
Apple recorded an 18.65 per cent share during the same period. OPPO and vivo again ranked behind, with Xiaomi moving into fifth place with a 13.30 per cent share.
Market analysts attribute Huawei’s comeback mainly to its pricing strategy for the Mate 80 series, which went on sale on November 28.
Despite higher global memory costs, Huawei introduced the new lineup at lower prices compared to the previous generation.
