WEB DESK: In yet another case involving an Indian Army personnel, a 40-year-old Indian military officer was arrested for raping a woman inside an empty coach of a special Army train at Tatisilwai Railway Station.
The incident occurred around 5:30 pm when the woman was waiting on the platform to board a train to Ranchi. Reports revealed that the accused, who was on duty guarding a defense logistics train and reportedly intoxicated, approached her, dragged her into the empty coach, and raped her after threatening her with severe consequences.
Local people alerted railway staff upon hearing her cries, and they entered the coach with police. The accused resisted arrest, leading to a scuffle in which he sustained minor injuries.
He has been identified as Ajit Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, currently posted with the 42 Medium Regiment in Patiala, Punjab. He was produced in court on December 19 and remanded to judicial custody, with the FIR registered under GRP Ranchi jurisdiction.
This rape case has brought attention to the issue of sexual violence against women in India, including many incidents involving uniformed personnel. Such cases in the Indian Army are concerning about women’s safety in public spaces, particularly in remote or isolated areas like railway stations.
Record resignations of IAF pilots reported after Marka-e-Haq
Earlier, a report revealed that a record number of Indian Air Force pilots resigned in recent years, with 163 leaving service in 2025 alone, according to official documents.
Newly released official documents from the Indian Air Force (IAF) indicate that 780 general-duty pilots have resigned over the past five years. This includes fighter pilots.
The year 2025 alone saw a record 163 resignations. It is the highest number since the May 2025 conflict with Pakistan.
Sources suggest that the wave of resignations follows the IAF’s reported decision not to officially acknowledge pilots killed during the conflict. This is as they even deny them military funerals.
Reports further indicate that the families of the deceased were reportedly placed under close supervision for six months.
This was allegedly to prevent information contradicting the official narrative from emerging.
