ISLAMABAD: Weather in Islamabad turned pleasant and cooler as heavy rain continues in the federal capital and surrounding areas.

Islamabad was under heavy rain early Friday morning as fast moving clouds blanket the city.

The downpour reduced visibility and leaving roads slick, with water pooling in low lying areas.

Commuters should slow down, keep headlights on, and expect brief gusts of wind and sudden bursts of heavier rain.

When and where the bad weather will hit across provinces and major cities

According to the advisory, a low pressure over the Gulf of Kutch and a fresh western disturbance will feed moist currents into the country.

As a result, Sindh can see rain from early October, while Punjab and the Islamabad face spells from 3rd October and again from 4th to 6th October.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir are likely to receive widespread rain from 2 to 7 October.

Balochistan may see activity from the night of 4 October to 6 October.

The maps published by NDMA on pages one to three mark districts such as Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Peshawar, Mansehra, Skardu, Mirpurkhas, Karachi, Quetta, and Zhob as areas of concern.

Day and night temperatures are likely to fall, and snowfall is possible on high mountains.

Key risks include flash floods, urban flooding, landslides, hail, and power disruptions

Heavy to very heavy rain may swell major rivers and trigger flash floods in local streams and hill torrents.

Urban flooding is possible in low lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and Nowshera.

Landslides and rockfall can hit Murree, Galiyat, and other hilly belts. Isolated hailstorms can damage orchards, crops, and vehicles.

Windstorms can topple hoardings, billboards, and solar panels. Lightning can threaten open fields and exposed structures.

Power and other utilities may also face interruptions as per advisory issued by the NDMA .
