OGRA announces increase in LPG prices

Web desk: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued an official notification increasing the price of LPG on Wednesday.

According to the notification, the price of LPG per kilogram has been raised by Rs 10.68. This brings the new rate to Rs 219.67 per kg.

Earlier this month, the LPG price was Rs 209 per kg.

Following the increase, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs 126.9.

The new price has raised concerns for low-income households.

OGRA’s notification states that the new rates will take effect from midnight tonight. This means that the consumers will immediately face higher prices.

For January, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder has been set at Rs 2,592.19. When compared to Rs 2,466.10 in December, it reflects a significant increase.

OGRA raises LPG prices 

Last month, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority announced another increase in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

As per the latest notification, LPG has become Rs7.39 more expensive per kilogram. It has pushed the new price to Rs209 per kg for December.

With this revision, the cost of a domestic LPG cylinder has gone up by Rs87.21, was then priced at Rs2,466.10.

Before the month of December, LPG was selling at Rs201 per kg, and a domestic cylinder cost Rs2,378.89.
