Islamabad local govt elections likely to postpone again

Web Desk: The Federal cabinet approved another postponement of the Islamabad local government elections. According to the sources the federal cabinet had approved decisions on December 3 and December 30 taken by its subcommittee on legislation.

The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and during the meeting the federal cabinet members reviewed the local government polls related new legislations in the federal capital.  The Chief Commissioner Islamabad briefed the cabinet on matters concerning the local bodies elections, according to sources.

The cabinet approved another postponement of the Islamabad local government elections. Additionally, it gave approval for legislation to hold local bodies elections in the capital on the Punjab model, sources said.
