KECH: On 4th January 2026, a suspected pickup vehicle with registration number “LE-2996” was stopped and inspected by security forces on M-8 road near Sammi Naka, Tehsil Turbat, District Kech. The security forces were able to recover a huge cache of illegal weapons. 400 unregistered and illegal pistols and 340 magazines.
The vehicle has been taken into custody, and one person was arrested. The details of the individual are Ahsanullah, son of Mir Baz Khan. He was a resident of Peshawar.
Kech is a district in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
Not much has been confirmed yet, but such incidents can be linked to India. India regularly sponsors terrorism in Balochistan. During the 18th National Workshop on Balochistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted the Indian threat in Balochistan.
He said that India-sponsored proxies were consistently trying to destabilise the province. They spread violence and disrupt development in the province, and people of Balochistan suffer the most.
He ensured that attempts to destabilise Balochistan will be countered through firm action, and the security forces will eliminate terrorism and unrest.
Recovering such a huge amount of weapons cache proves Pakistan’s armed forces’ commitment to protecting the people of Balochistan. Such a big cache of weapons could be used to commit a deadly terrorist attack on the people of Balochistan.
Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan with huge economic potential. It has many valuable minerals, which include coal, gold, copper and chromite. The Reqo Diq is one of the largest copper-gold deposits in the world. Its estimated revenues are about 5.9 tonnes of ore.
