Recently, the security agencies carried out a major operation in Karachi, preventing a serious tragedy and saving the city.
During an intelligence-based operation, the security agencies seized a mini truck parked in an empty plot.
The truck contained tons of explosive material, 60 plastic drums, five gas cylinders, and over 40 kilograms of homemade explosives.
The operation was carried out in Karachi’s Baldia Town.
Situation in Kurram
Kurram has been marred with tribal violence stemming from decades-old land disputes, which claimed at least 130 lives in 2024. Following months of conflict, the warring tribes reached a ceasefire agreement in January 2025, followed by a year-long peace deal signed in July by the Lower Kurram and Sadda tribes.
In December 2025, terrorists carried out a cowardly attack on a security checkpoint in Pakistan’s northwest near the Afghan border, martyring six soldiers and police personnel. Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
