The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selectors have finalised the list of a possible 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Australia and the ICC T20 World Cup.
The sources have revealed the national squad is expected to be announced shortly after receiving formal approval from PCB Chairman.
Pakistan are scheduled to face Australia in a three-match T20 series, likely to be hosted at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Following the series, both teams will depart for their respective T20 World Cup campaigns.
According to sources, the selection committee finalized the proposed squad after consultations with head coach Mike Hussain and captain Salman Ali Agha.
The players included in the proposed 15-member list are Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Salman Ali Agha, Usman Khan, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Salman Mirza, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Faheem Ashraf.
Additionally, one of Khawaja Nafi or Usman Tariq is expected to be included in the final squad. Usman Tariq is reportedly being considered as a surprise inclusion. Wasim Junior, Abdul Samad, and Khawaja Nafi are likely to be named among the reserve players. The official announcement of the squad is expected at any time following the PCB chairman’s approval.
