Landslide kills three in Kohat

A landslide struck the hilly area of Qamar Khel near Gumbat tehsil in Kohat leaving three people dead and four others injured.

As per reports at least seven individuals were stuck under the debris when due to a landslid side of the mountain collapsed.

According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the teams reached the spot soon after getting the alert and launched a rescue operation. The deceased and injured were pulled out from the rubble and the efforts are still underway to search for any remaining victims.

In a separate incident a sudden forest fire broke out for unknown reasons near a stone crushing plant on Thandiani Road in the Gumaon area of Abbottabad.

Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 dispatched two fire vehicles and ambulances to the incident spot.

The fire spread quickly across a large forested area and the firefighting teams from Nawan Shehr and Abbottabad reached the site and began operations to control the blaze.

Earlier in another incident six persons, including woman and children, were killed when the roof of a house collapsed in Khair Abad Matta area of Shabqadar tehsil, Peshawar.

As per the rescue services details that in the incident under the debris several women and children were trapped.

According to officials the rescue teams are actively engaged in removing the rubble to reach those trapped and the deceased include women and children aged between two and 14 years.

The injured have been immediately shifted to the hospital for medical treatment and rescue operations remain underway.
