Bank robbery attempt foiled in Kharan, 14 terrorists killed: CM Bugti

Balochistan CM Press Conference.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti on Friday said that a major attempt to rob a bank in Kharan district was foiled by security forces, resulting in the killing of around 14 terrorists, out of whom 12 have been confirmed.

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Minister said that terrorists were pushing the Baloch people towards a futile war and targeting innocent civilians. He said that armed militants were abducting ordinary passengers from buses and killing them, calling such acts crimes against humanity. He added that now these terrorists are heading towards their complete elimination.

Sarfaraz Bugti said that there was a time when highways in Balochistan remained closed for seven to ten days due to law and order issues. “Today, no highway in Balochistan is closed even for seven minutes,” he claimed, adding that the security situation had significantly improved.

Responding to a question, Sarfraz Bugti on Friday stated that Pakistan’s armed forces have eliminated 900 terrorists during decisive operations. He stated that Frontier Constabulary has played a major role in the success of these operations.

The chief minister said that the provincial government was taking concrete steps to further strengthen the security of banks and other sensitive installations across Balochistan. He added that terrorists were misleading students and exploiting them for their own nefarious purposes.

Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Bugti said that no one would be allowed to disrupt peace and stability in the province, and strict action would continue against elements involved in terrorism and violence.
