A plan has been prepared to impose a fee for police security at private events.

The police have sent proposals regarding the security fee to the IG Punjab, under which police security will no longer be provided free of cost for private events.

In 2025, Lahore Police made security arrangements for more than 14,000 events, most of which included private, protest, and cultural programs.

According to the proposals sent to IG Punjab, a formal mechanism will be developed to charge fees for police security services.

The security fee may be applied to wedding halls, concerts, protest gatherings, and other events. The revenue generated will be spent on the welfare and facilities of police personnel.

After approval by the Punjab government, an official notification for fee collection will be issued.

Lahore Police stated that this step will help make the security system more effective.
