PM Shehbaz Sharif to distribute laptops to Karachi students next month

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will distribute laptops to students in Karachi next month as part of the fourth phase of the Prime Minister Laptop Scheme.

The Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme will be officially launched in Sindh from NED University Karachi, under which 20,000 state-of-the-art laptops will be distributed to students across the province.

Federal Government Spokesperson for Sindh Affairs, Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari, stated that the initiative reflects Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of empowering youth through modern education, technology, and digital skills.

He emphasised that the nation’s future depends on a well-educated and skilled young population, and investing in education is essential for sustainable national development.

He noted that the laptop scheme was discontinued in 2018 by the previous PTI government, depriving millions of students of access to modern educational tools. The current federal government, he said, has not only restored the program but relaunched it with enhanced transparency, efficiency, and a broader scope.

Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari appreciated the efforts of Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Khan, stating that his leadership has created meaningful opportunities for young people.

He also acknowledged the contributions of Sindh Coordinator PM Youth Programme Fahad Shafiq for ensuring effective implementation of the scheme throughout the province.

He added that the laptop scheme would enable students to actively engage in research, information technology, advanced learning, and the digital economy, key sectors for national progress.

The spokesperson further stated that the federal government remains committed to the youth of Sindh and is taking concrete measures to integrate them into the national mainstream through education, employment, and technology-based initiatives.

Concluding his remarks, Raja Khaliq Zaman Ansari reaffirmed that the Government of Pakistan will honor all commitments made to the youth and will continue to pursue education-friendly policies on a sustained basis.
