Egypt has blocked the online gaming platform Roblox across the country.

The move was taken by the Supreme Council for Media Regulation in coordination with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. The decision was made over concerns about child safety.

Authorities said the platform carries violent and inappropriate material that is not suitable for children.

They also said Roblox allows users to talk to strangers. And that this could put young users at risk and harm their mental and emotional health.

The action followed pressure from lawmakers who demanded stricter controls.

Some senators said such platforms encourage violence and unhealthy habits. They added that this goes against the state’s media rules.

Egypt has now joined Qatar, Iraq, and Türkiye, where Roblox is already limited or blocked.

In the United States, some states have also taken legal action due to similar concerns about children.

Roblox Corporation said it has reached out to Egyptian officials and is ready to discuss possible solutions.

The company said it has already launched age checks and safety features in some regions.

Public reaction has been divided. Many parents supported the ban and said that it will help protect children.

At the same time, many young users said they were unhappy. Some said they might even use VPN services to access the platform and use it.

Roblox is widely used around the world, especially by children and teenagers.

Officials said this step is part of a wider plan to regulate online platforms and protect minors.
