Addressing a public event in Mianwali, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, on Thursday, announced billions of rupees in development initiatives for Mianwali.

She also opened a Cath Lab and spoke at a large public gathering after arriving at Mianwali in Sargodha Division.

The Chief Minister declared in her speech that a medical college, an agricultural college, a law college along with an allied college for nurses and other health professionals would all be established in Mianwali.

Additionally, she announced that the District Headquarters Hospital would be promoted to Teaching Hospital status.

She declared that 300,000 acres of agricultural land would be distributed to farmers under the “Apna Khet Apni Zameen” project with up to five acres granted on a 25-year lease.

“Brothers of Mianwali, elders, my daughters and sisters, today I am very glad, CM Punjab stated at the beginning of her speech.

She then greeted the residents of Mianwali on behalf of her father, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and honored the district’s mothers, daughters and sisters.

“I will react to the love and confidence of the noble people of Mianwali with even greater service”, she said while congratulating Ali Noor Niazi on his electoral triumph.

“Mianwali may be far from the map of Punjab, but it is not far from my heart”, she stated while expressing amazement at the passion of the crowd that arrived in huge numbers in the afternoon.

Projects like Cath Lab, the Suthra Punjab roads initiatives and the Green Bus were previously unattainable for Mianwali, the Chief Minister emphasised.

She also pointed out that heart problems are becoming more prevalent and that patients who were previously sent to Rawalpindi or Lahore would now be able to receive treatment in Mianwali. According to the CM, the Cath Lab meets all international standards.

Maryam Nawaz congratulated those who are using the Green Bus service and said that children, senior citizens and students can use it for free. Woman can travel for free in a separate compartment as well.

She also declared that a medical college would be donated to Mianwali, allowing students to pursue careers as doctors and give back to their town.

Students will no longer have to relocate to other cities for legal education once a law college opens, she added further.

In regards to agriculture, she announced the opening of an Agricultural College in recognition of the diligent Mianwali farmers who make a substantial contribution to Punjab’s food production.

The Punjab CM further made an announcement that four million households will receive Rs10,000 during Ramadan.
