The main X account of Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP) has been suspended by the officials.
An account on X believed to belong to a key figure in Pakistan, named Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP), has been taken offline.

Account handlers
The account, operating under the handle @Tarjuman_IMP, was attributed to Mahmood ul-Hasan, who was named as the official spokesperson of IMP in the group’s founding statement.
Other spokespersons for the group have the following names: Fateh Ghaznavi, Inqilabi Islami Media, and Ghazi Rasheed Ahmed.
Before its removal, the account had more than 3,000 followers and listed a contact number with an Afghan country code.
There were several other terrorist groups merged with the account, including the Lashkar-e-Islam, IIPMedia-1, Al-Khaybari, and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA).
The suspension comes at a time of shifting dynamics among militant groups in Pakistan.

New militant alliance
On 11 April 2025, three groups, the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, Lashkar-e-Islam, and Harkat Inqilab-e-Islami Pakistan, announced the formation of IMP. The statement said the alliance would operate under a unified ideological and organisational structure.
Its media wing was introduced as “Sada-e-Ghazwat-ul-Hind”. Since the announcement, attack claims from the three groups have been issued under the IMP name, suggesting operational consolidation.
Between 12 and 16 April, IMP claimed several attacks in North Waziristan and the Tirah Valley. These included sniper fire, rocket and grenade strikes, convoy ambushes, and a reported drone bomb attack using a quadcopter in Miranshah. The claims were released in Urdu, Pashto and English.
Signs of rivalry
The emergence of IMP has drawn an indirect response from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has long presented itself as the main umbrella group for militants in the country.
Without naming IMP, TTP’s media outlet published messages stressing unity under one leadership. A speech by Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud called for discipline and warned against divisions. Other articles emphasised the need for a single command structure.
Analysts say the messaging reflects concern over the rise of a rival alliance. There are also reports that elements linked to Jamaat-ul-Ahrar could move towards IMP amid internal rifts within TTP.
Security concerns
The involvement of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, known for past high-profile attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, gives IMP experience on the ground. For now, its operations appear limited to tribal districts.
Security officials will be watching whether the alliance expands beyond these areas. If it attracts fighters from other factions, it could reshape the militant landscape and complicate counter-terrorism efforts.
It remains unclear why the @Tarjuman_IMP account was removed. X has not publicly commented. The platform regularly suspends accounts linked to extremist activity under its policies.
