At least two innocent civilians were martyred, and 15 other injured in a powerful blast that occurred near the main gate of Miryan Police Station, Bannu.
According to the police, a heavy contingent arrived at the scene immediately following the incident. The injured were shifted to the district headquarters hospital for medical treatment.
Initial reports stated that the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) planted on a motorcycle.
Security Forces Kill 22 Indian-Backed Fitna Al Khwarij in Bannu IBO
Earlier, security forces gunned down 22 Indian-backed Fitna Al Khawarij in an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to ISPR, an intelligence based operation was conducted in Bannu District, on reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and after an intense fire exchange, twenty two khwarij were sent to hell.
Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored Kharji found in the area, as the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” (as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
KP operations
Earlier, thirteen militants affiliated with the Indian-backed Fitna Al Khwarij group were killed in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province, as per the statement issued by the ISPR.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces and law enforcement agencies conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in the Paharkhel area of Lakki Marwat District. This operation followed reports of militant presence.
During the operation, troops engaged the militants in intense gunfire, resulting in the elimination of ten extremists.
Another intelligence-driven operation was carried out in Dera Ismail Khan District, where three militants were neutralised in a subsequent firefight.
Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants. These had been involved in attacks against security forces, law enforcement personnel, and civilians.
