Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi has fixed the prices of food items in the city for the convenience of citizens before the start of Ramzan, and in this regard, 13 markets have been selected as model bazaars so that the availability of items at fixed rates can be ensured.
According to the notification, during Ramzan, potato and minced meat samosas will be available at 40 rupees per piece, while one kilogram of pakoras will be available for 640 rupees.
Similarly, 100 grams of chapati will be sold for 14 rupees, and 180 grams of tandoori naan for 27 rupees.
The prices of meat have also been fixed: meat with large bones will be priced at 1300 rupees per kilogram, while boneless meat will be priced at 1600 rupees per kilogram.
Citizens have been instructed to purchase items from model bazaars at the fixed rates to avoid extra charges.
The Commissioner of Karachi said that DC Karachi will ensure that during Ramzan, in different areas of the city, the supply of food items in model bazaars remains timely and at fixed rates.
This step has been taken to protect consumers from the pressure of inflation and to provide ease during Ramadan.
According to sources, in model bazaars, citizens will be facilitated to purchase potatoes, meat, vegetables, pakoras, samosas, and other items at fixed rates, and the relevant authorities will regularly visit the markets to monitor prices.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted the hot and the dry weather all across the country in the first few days of Ramzan 2026.
According to officials, hardly any rain, up to zero percent, is expected during the first ten days of the holy month.
Daytime conditions are likely to be dry across the country with an eventual increase in temperatures.
Citizens are advised to take required precautions against heat and drink water, especially during the fasting time as the earlier part of Ramzan could be especially hot.
