KP CM Afridi unveils movement strategy seeking release of PTI Founder

Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has announced the formation of a force aimed at launching a peaceful movement for the release of former prime minister and Founder of PTI, Imran Khan.

Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Afridi emphasised that the newly announced force would operate within the framework of a completely peaceful struggle.

He alleged that court orders were being ignored and claimed that Imran Khan was not being granted access to his personal doctors.

Afridi described the current political situation as a threat to democracy, constitutional supremacy and press freedom.

According to the Chief Minister, the Force will be formally registered and will include members from all party wings, including PTI, the Insaf Student Federation (ISF), and the party’s Women’s Wing. He announced that the oath-taking ceremony for members of the force would take place immediately after Eid in Peshawar.

Afridi further stated that the force would have a structured chain of command, with leadership assigned by the PTI founder. “We will first complete our preparations and then begin the struggle,” he said.

Addressing questions regarding internal party matters and reports of a warrant issued against him, Afridi remarked that those seeking his removal from office should remember that “honour and disgrace are in the hands of Allah.” He added that questions regarding messages about his possible removal should be directed to the sisters of the PTI founder.

The announcement comes amid ongoing political tensions, with Afridi reiterating that all funds released to support victims would be fully accounted for.
