The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has completed preparations to introduce an electronic answer-sheet system for the Grade 9 and 10 examinations.

As part of efforts to modernize the examination system the board has decided to implement the E-Sheet system in the annual matriculation exams. Under this initiative answer scripts of ninth and 10th grade students will be scanned and marked online a move expected to save time and improve transparency.

According to officials the system will initially be applied to Computer Science papers. Under the new method each examiner will check only one question. For example if a paper contains five questions five different teachers will assess separate questions reducing the chances of errors and bias.

Students have been advised to write each answer clearly and neatly under the relevant question number to avoid any difficulties during the scanning process. They have also been urged to pay special attention to proper sequence and cleanliness of their answer scripts.

Board officials stated that all records will be stored online making result compilation more organized. A reduction in complaints related to rechecking is also expected.
