The University of the Punjab (PU) has announced the opening of online applications for 50 security guard positions, according to reports on Thursday. Additionally, the recruitment process is set to conclude after the March 2, 2026, deadline.

The University of the Punjab has announced that it will recruit 50 additional security guards to overcome the problem of staff shortages and to strengthen safety arrangements across its campuses.
According to the details by the university sources, the guards will be hired on a daily wage basis for an initial period of three months.
The administration has opened the application process online. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply, and they must submit their forms by March 2, 2026.
After the deadline, officials will check the applications, carry out scrutiny, and complete the appointment process.
University authorities further said that the hiring initiative is intended to improve security measures and ensure a safer environment for students, faculty members, and other staff.
Govt jobs in Sindh
In a separate development, the Government of Sindh has announced recruitment for Grade 1 to 4 positions in all 30 districts of the province.
Officials stated that deputy commissioners have been given the power to supervise the recruitment process at the union council, town, tehsil, and district levels.
The available posts include naib qasid, chowkidar, sanitary worker, driver, dispatch rider, and other lower-grade positions.
District recruitment committees have already prepared and approved vacancy lists that are based on interviews and tests that were conducted in 2023.
The recruitment plan also covers all seven districts of the Karachi Division. Authorities have directed that the hiring process be completed before June 2027.
The decision follows political objections raised by Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan. They had previously challenged recruitment recommendations in the Sindh High Court over alleged irregularities.
Officials have emphasised that the ongoing recruitment drive will be carried out in a transparent manner and strictly in line with established rules and procedures.
