In an intelligence-based overnight airstrike, Pakistan targeted and destroyed seven centres of Fitna-al-Khawarij and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost provinces.
More than 80 militants were confirmed killed in the coordinated operation, with the toll expected to rise as damage assessments continue. The strikes were described as precision, intelligence-led actions aimed at dismantling operational hubs allegedly used to plan and facilitate cross-border attacks.
The centers reported destroyed in the operation include:
- New Center No. 1 — Nangarhar
- New Center No. 2 — Nangarhar
- Kharji Maulvi Abbas Centre — Khost
- Kharji Islam Centre — Nangarhar
- Kharji Ibrahim Center — Nangarhar
- Kharji Mullah Rahbar Center — Paktika
In the context of terrorist activities carried out in Pakistan by Fitna al-Khawarij elements present in Afghanistan, Pakistan targeted the hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij located in Afghanistan.
This operation was conducted based on credible intelligence against Fitna al-Khawarij and other affiliated terrorist groups that have, from time to time, claimed responsibility for attacks carried out in Pakistan.
The operation was carried out against those terrorists who, after committing attacks on the people of Pakistan and security forces, had taken refuge in Afghanistan.
In this regard, the impression that Afghan civilians or security forces were targeted is completely false and propaganda.
