No early elections in Pakistan: sources

Various reports are circulating regarding the contacts between the government and the opposition leader. These reports claim that early elections were discussed in this meeting.

Some media reports have mentioned this possibility. However, informed sources strongly deny these reports.

According to sources, early elections will not be discussed in the proposed meeting between the government delegation and the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

Nor is there any possibility in this regard, according to sources. Only important national and political issues are expected to be discussed in this meeting.

Opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai has informed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership about the contacts made by government figures so that the future strategy can be decided through mutual consultation.

Furthermore, there are reports regarding the chambers’ contacts that discussions have been held between the government and the opposition on early elections. Or that this matter will come up for consideration in the next meeting.

However, sources make it clear that all such news is baseless, fabricated and contrary to facts.

It should be noted that the meeting between the government and the opposition is yet to take place.

Additionally, the speculations being spread regarding early elections in this regard are based on mere rumours that have no truth.
