PM Shehbaz lands in Qatar for key bilateral talks with Amir

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Qatar on a two-day official visit at the invitation of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The Prime Minister was received at Hamad International Airport in Doha by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar, Muhammad Amir and other diplomatic staff.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi are accompanying the Prime Minister.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral meetings with the Emir of Qatar to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in economic affairs, energy partnership, and people-to-people exchanges. Both sides will also explore opportunities to further strengthen collaboration in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure development, and manpower export.

The Prime Minister’s visit reflects the deep brotherly ties between the two countries and underscores their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

The two countries enjoy a longstanding partnership built on mutual trust and close coordination at both regional and international forums.

It is worth mentioning that a few days earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had a telephonic discussion with Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and exchanged greetings on the arrival of the Holy month of Razman.

The two leaders prayed for the unity, peace and progress of the Muslim Ummah and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Qatar.

The Prime Minister appreciated Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace and understanding around the world, particularly in the Middle East. He also paid tribute to the Emir’s wise and visionary leadership.
