The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) is actively executing a special cleanliness initiative for Ramadan to ensure that citizens enjoy a hygienic environment throughout the holy month.
According to sources, this initiative involves the deployment of a dedicated sanitation workforce at 23 Ramadan bazaars established by the district administration across the nine towns of Lahore.
Measures implemented for Ramadan cleanliness
A total of 156 workers from the Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore have been assigned to perform their duties in two shifts at the model and Sahulat bazaars set up for Ramadan.
To facilitate proper waste disposal, additional waste containers and bins have been placed in and around the Ramadan markets.
Sanitation personnel have also been assigned to the ‘Ramadan Nigehban’ bazaars to assist citizens and uphold cleanliness standards.
Babar Sahib Din, the Director General of Suthra Punjab, has issued instructions for swift resolution of complaints received from Ramadan bazaars, ensuring that sanitation services remain uninterrupted.
Cleaning teams are currently operating at Ramadan Sahulat bazaars located in Harbanspura, China Scheme, Chuhng, Sabzazar, Raiwind, and Thokar Niaz Baig.
Likewise, cleanliness operations are in progress at Mian Plaza, Township, Sher Shah Colony, Wahdat Colony, Ashiana Road, Bedian Road, and Barki Road.
Additionally, special sanitation measures have been implemented at Ramadan Sahulat bazaars in Badami Bagh, Shahdara, and along GT Road.
Ramadan Bazaars set up across Punjab
Earlier this month, nearly 74 Ramadan Bazaars were set up across Punjab to assist individuals in acquiring essential food items at lower prices.
This initiative began on February 14, guided by the Punjab Sahulat Bazaars Authority, with the goal of offering relief before Ramadan commenced.
The provincial government converted existing Sahulat Bazaars into specialized Ramadan markets. These markets are now fully operational and ready to serve consumers.
