Karachi airport upgrades its runway
Earlier, Karachi’s primary airport improved its main runway, enabling it to accommodate the world’s largest commercial passenger aircraft, the formidable A380, according to airbus officials.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced that the renovated Runway 07L/25R at Jinnah International Airport has achieved a Code 4F classification after fulfilling international safety criteria.
This upgrade signified that the runway is now capable of supporting larger aircraft, including the double-decker Airbus A380.
Jinnah International Airport serves as Pakistan’s busiest aviation center, designed to handle an annual passenger volume of approximately 12 million travelers.
In 2025, it processed around 8.5 million passengers, according to the latest operational statistics.
The airport features two runways and a state-of-the-art terminal complex.
It is capable of managing about 15 flight movements each hour and is equipped with several air bridges and parking bays for wide-body aircraft.
