Senate unanimously passes resolution condemning Afghan incursion

The Senate on Friday unanimously passed a resolution strongly condemning the recent Afghan incursion into Pakistan’s border areas, calling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The resolution, presented by Pakistan People’s Party central leader Sherry Rehman, denounced what it described as the infiltration of Pakistan’s border regions by Afghanistan.

The House expressed grave concern over the incident and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its borders.

According to the text of the resolution, the Senate paid tribute to the soldiers of the armed forces who were martyred during the incursion, acknowledging their bravery and sacrifices in defending the nation.

The resolution further condemned the alleged use of Afghan territory for terrorist activities against Pakistan, urging immediate measures to prevent such actions in the future.

The unanimous passage of the resolution reflects a rare display of political unity in the upper house on matters concerning national security and sovereignty.
