In another development, Karachi police have issued a public safety advisory, saying a high alert has been issued following “increased military tensions between Pakistan and Afghan Taliban forces near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border”.
The advisory said police and other law enforcement agencies have strengthened surveillance and tightened security at key entry-exit points, transportation hubs, sensitive and important places to pre-empt potential security threats.
Earlier, it was reported that Pakistan took control of 32 sq km of Afghan territory in the Zhob sector, naming it the Ghudwana Enclave.
According to sources, in response to firing by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) on Pakistani posts along the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistan’s security forces delivered a strong and decisive response.
The Pakistan Air Force destroyed an Afghan Army brigade headquarters in Nangarhar during the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.
In addition to this, Pakistan has destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts along the border, including the Shaga post in Azam Warsak sector, say security sources.
With the Taliban’s post tower near Miranshah also destroyed, the security sources said that the Taliban regime is being given an effective response against unprovoked aggression.
