Clashes erupt between Taliban factions in Kunar, Nangarhar

Heavy clashes are ongoing between different factions of the Afghan Taliban in the Kunar and Nangarhar provinces of Afghanistan.

According to sources, the clashes are due to disagreements over support for terrorism in Pakistan.

Some Taliban factions, reportedly receiving backing from groups such as the TTP, Gul Bahadur, and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, have been carrying out attacks on Pakistan at the behest of India.

Local sources report that weapons are being exchanged during the fighting, causing widespread panic in the region.

In response, the Pakistan Air Force has targeted and destroyed the hideouts of these anti-Pakistan factions. Government and security agencies are closely monitoring the situation.

On the other hand Pakistan Army has taken control of 32 sq km of Afghan territory in the Zhob sector, naming it the Ghudwana Enclave.

According to sources, in response to firing by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan (TTA) on Pakistani posts along the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistan’s security forces delivered a strong and decisive response.

331 Afghan Taliban personnel have been killed and over 500 injured since the start of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.

Earlier, the Pakistan Air Force destroyed an Afghan Army brigade headquarters in Nangarhar during the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq.

In addition to this, Pakistan has destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts along the border, including the Shaga post in Azam Warsak sector, say security sources.
