Advisory issued for Pakistanis in Gulf amid regional tensions

All Pakistani citizens residing in Gulf countries are advised to exercise extreme caution, stay at home as much as possible, and avoid unnecessary travel.

Guidelines have been issued for Pakistani citizens regarding the situation in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf.

Crisis Management Unit activated

In view of the rapidly changing regional circumstances, the Crisis Management Unit of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been activated and will operate 24 hours a day.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, anyone seeking information or emergency assistance may contact 0092-51-9207887.

The announcement further states that citizens should strictly follow the instructions and advisories issued by the respective host governments.

Emergency contact numbers for Pakistani embassies and consulates abroad have also been provided for the convenience of overseas Pakistanis.

Earlier, Pakistan had banned its citizens from travelling to Iran in view of the prevailing situation in the Middle East.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an important travel advisory regarding the situation in Iran, stating that Pakistani citizens should avoid unnecessary travel to the country.

The Ministry further advised Pakistanis residing in Iran to remain cautious and vigilant, and to limit unnecessary movement.

According to the statement, Pakistani citizens should stay in contact with the nearest diplomatic mission. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also issued emergency contact numbers for the Pakistani Embassy in Tehran, as well as consulates in Zahedan and Mashhad.

For security reasons, citizens have been advised to postpone non-essential travel to Iran. Pakistanis living abroad have also been instructed to exercise strict caution.
