Security forces have foiled an attempt by terrorists to cut the fence along the Pak-Afghan border through timely action. One terrorist was killed during the operation, while the others escaped with injuries.
According to sources, secret parties had been attempting to cut the fence in the PAB area during the day to facilitate infiltration by the TTA. In response, an ambush was planned to effectively target those attempting to breach the fence and to prevent such incidents in the future.
Details reveal that on 7th March 2026, a team of security forces laid an ambush at a fence-cutting point in the Khara sector. Later that day, at 4:30 pm, three to four TTA personnel approached near Mukha Post and attempted to cut the fence. In response, a detachment led by WC 144 Wing laid a well-coordinated ambush at a likely fence-cutting site.
The team engaged the intruders immediately, resulting in one militant killed and the others injured. The surviving militants fled, leaving behind significant evidence.
Sources revealed that authorities recovered the body of the deceased, identified as a hardcore TTP operative. Alongside the body, security forces seized 4-5 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) concealed in 1.5-litre bottles and one staircase, believed to be intended for infiltration purposes. Photographic evidence of the recovery has been documented by the forces.
Meanwhile, in the current week, security forces have successfully repelled multiple attacks under Operation Ghazab lil Haq in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), inflicting heavy losses on the Afghan Taliban.
Federal Minister for Information took to X (formerly Twitter), stating that in Balochistan, Afghan Taliban launched physical attack on 16 different locations in the northern parts of the province, including Qilla Saifullah, Noshki and Chaman districts. In addition, fire raids were carried out at 25 locations targeting security posts.
All attacks were effectively repulsed with a total of 27 killed, while several others sustained injuries during the clashes.
During the exchange of fire, one soldier of FC Balochistan North embraced martyrdom while defending the country. Five other soldiers were reported injured and are receiving medical treatment.
