Route plan released for Youm-e-Ali (A.S) procession on 21 Ramzan in Islamabad

The route plan has been released for the Youm-e-Ali (A.S) procession scheduled for the 21st of Ramzan, as security preparations continue across several cities.

Officials say special arrangements have been made in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Lahore to manage the processions and maintain traffic flow.

Islamabad

In Islamabad, the main procession will begin from the Imambargah in Sector G-6/4.

According to officials, the procession is expected to start around 1pm on March 10.

Security containers will be placed in parts of the area as part of precautionary measures.

Authorities say traffic movement near the procession route may be restricted while the event is underway.

Rawalpindi

In Rawalpindi, the main procession will start from Mohn Pura at around 11pm on March 10.

It will continue through the night and conclude before Sehri at Colonel Maqbool Imambargah in Bohar Bazaar.

Officials say additional processions will also take place in several areas of the city, including New Town, Waris Khan, City, Civil Lines, Cantt, Saddar, Kahuta, Gujar Khan, Murree and Taxila.

Traffic police say vehicles will be diverted from Saddar, Mochi Bazaar, City Police Station, DAV College Chowk, Alam Khan Road, Imambargah Chowk and Committee Chowk to ensure security and allow the procession to move safely.

Lahore

In Lahore, the main mourning procession will start from Mubarak Haveli and conclude at Imam Bargah Karbala Gamay Shah.

Security arrangements and traffic management plans have been prepared in the surrounding areas.

Advisory for commuters

Authorities have asked residents and commuters to follow traffic instructions and avoid unnecessary travel near procession routes.

Police say the measures are intended to ensure the safety of participants and to help manage traffic in busy areas of the cities during the commemorations.
