Punjab denies PPP claim of Bilawal House security Withdrawal

Bilawal House security

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Wednesday accused the Punjab government of withdrawing police security from Bilawal House, Lahore, calling the move a risk to party leadership.

The provincial government completely denied the allegation, saying security “remains fully intact.”

PPP alleges two-day lapse at Bilawal House Lahore residence

PPP leader Jamil Manj said all police personnel had been removed from Bilawal House and that no officers were posted at the premises for the past two days.

The party’s Lahore General Secretary termed the development “politically motivated and irresponsible.”

Moreover, he said the provincial administration had endangered senior PPP leaders by pulling uniformed protection from the residence associated with the party’s top leadership.

Punjab ministers reject reports of security Withdrawal as “false and baseless”

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari rejected the PPP’s claim, calling the reports “false and misleading” and insisting there had been no withdrawal of security.

Senior Minister Government of Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb also dismissed the allegation.

Furthermore, she said “The news about the withdrawal of Bilawal House security is completely false and baseless. The security of Bilawal House remains fully intact and was never withdrawn. Media outlets are strongly advised to verify such information from official government sources before broadcasting.”

The PPP, in response, refuted the Punjab ministers’ statements and released video footage from Bilawal House as evidence showing the absence of security personnel.

Later, according to sources, the Punjab government contacted PPP leadership and assured that security at Bilawal House would be reinstated.
