New Zealand Cricket has granted leave for the PSL 11 coaches Luke Ronchi and Jacob Oram.
New Zealand Cricket said in its statement that Luke Ronchi and Jacob Oram are assistant coaches of New Zealand cricket team, and leave has been given to them for coaching Islamabad United.
Luke Ronchi is head coach of Islamabad United while the Assistant coach is Jacob Oram and they will miss the home series against South Africa and the tour of Bangladesh.
New Zealand’s Mike Sandel said that they support Luke Ronchi and Jacob Oram for getting the opportunity to coach as they added it will help them to have more experience and expertise when they coach outside of New Zealand.
He said that the experience developed through the coaching in the PSL will benefit New Zealand.
It is worth mentioning that the first T20 match between the New Zealand team and South Africa will be played on March 15, while the New Zealand Cricket has declared the replacement coaches for Luke Ronchi and Jacob Oram.
In other news The Multan Sultans have appointed Ashton Turner as captain ahead of 11th edition of Pakistan Super League. The PSL 11 tournament is set to start later this month.
The decision has created some discussion among fans on social media.
Some fans have praised Turner for his experience in franchise cricket. Others have questioned why a local player couldn’t have been chosen to lead the team.
Turner is an experienced T20 cricketer from Australia. He has won a number of Big Bash League titles.
The 33-year-old has also captained Perth Scorchers in the past. While playing with the team, he contributed to them winning various BBL titles.
His leadership and experience of T20 cricket are expected to be in favour of the Sultans in this season.
The Multan Sultans have come back to the league after franchise changes and rebranding earlier in 2026. The team was earlier known as the Sialkot Stallionz.
