Petrol prices likely to reduce in Pakistan

The petrol prices in Pakistan are likely to be reduced in the upcoming days following a major decrease in the petroleum products worldwide.

According to Mettis Link News, there will be a cut of Rs20 per litre in the price of petrol and Rs35 per litre in the price of high-speed diesel.

As per the pricing data of June 15, 2026, the ex-refinery cost of petrol in Pakistan has witnessed a decrease from Rs245.16 to Rs224.99 per litre.

On the other hand, the ex-refinery cost of diesel has reduced from Rs304.11 to Rs268.96 per litre, which, as per the press release issued by the concerned department, will decrease weekly by Rs35 per litre.

If observed globally, the petroleum prices have reduced to a great extent over the past few weeks, especially after the announcement of a peace deal between the US and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The petrol price has decreased by $10 per barrel to around $117, and the diesel price has dropped by $18, standing now at $138.

Previously, the petrol price per barrel was $127, and that of diesel was standing at $156 per barrel.

The petrol prices are still higher in Pakistan as compared to the global price, with petrol still 27% above its previous rate and diesel 49% higher.
