A statement has come out from the BCCI Vice President today, Rajeev Shukla, about the inclusion of Pakistani spinner Abrar Ahmed in the Indian-owned team Sunrisers Leeds in England’s The Hundred League.
Rajeev Shukla said that the matter is about a league which is foreign in character and not Indian Premier League (IPL) or any other Indian league.
The BCCI Vice President further said that it doesn’t come under their domain as it’s the owner’s decision and they take these decisions in another foreign league that they are a part of.

Rajeev Shukla added that it is their call and the board cannot do anything about it.
It is worth noting that during The Hundred League 2026 player auction, Kavya Maran, the owner of the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad has bought Abrar Ahmed, a Pakistani spinner for Sunrisers Leeds for millions of Rupees.
Sunrisers Leeds bought Abrar Ahmed for £190,000 due to this the Indian owners have come under severe criticism for keeping a Pakistani cricketer in the team.
